Title
[LB013025], Letter from Samuel Insull to Ansonia Brass and Copper Co, Alfred Abernethy Cowles, November 27th, 1883
Editor's Notes
"I send you statements against Mr Edison and the Const Dept to Nov 1st aggregate $20,857.91. Of this the following invoices were on account of Fall river & Newburgh. [short list follows totalling $4,725.90] This leaves $16,032.21 to be settled for. This represents 84,499 lbs of copper on which the rebate of 2 cents per lb amounts to $1,689.98 which reduces the above to $14,542.28. I have arranged with Mr. Edison to give your three notes dated 15th Nov 83 for $4847.41 each and falling due 15th March April & May respectively. On receiving word from you that the above figures are correct I will send you down the notes. The above will close out everything except the orders covered by the assignments you hold & some small orders for wire which you have not, I believe, as yet filled. As to the Machine Works account I am not sure whether I shall be able to settle it before I leave and I will do my best to do so. If I do not I will leave matters in such shape that on 1st Januare a note of the Isolated Coy will be sent you in settlement to that date."
