Title

[LB014116], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to George Edward Gouraud, September 13th, 1882

Editor's Notes

Your favor of 22nd August came duly to hand.##I think that power can be transmitted economically the distance you state for the purposes of lighting Geneva. As to what would be the cost of the experiment I think more than L20000 would be required for the purpose. I am sorry to say however that I am unable to do anything in the matter myself as I have disposed of all my Electric Light & power rights for Switzerland to Mons Turretini 10 Rue P[etitol] Geneva and for France to the Compagnie Continental Edison 33 Avenue de Opera. As to Geneva you had better communicate with Mr Turrettini whom it is my impression has a concession for lighting Geneva. As to any City in France it would perhaps be as well for you write to Batchelor whose address is Societe Indust et Comt Edison 5 Rue du Paris Ivry-sur-Seine France
