Editor's Notes

I give you below prices of the various Dynamo machines we are now building.##[price listing follows]##The "C" Dynamo is the Central Station Steam Dynamo and included in the price is 150 horsepower engine used to drive it. We will deliver all the machines (except the "C") F.O.B. Port of London paying packing & carting here & freight and insurance ourselves. The "C" machine we will deliver F.O.B. New York you paying Insurance and freight charges. The reason we are obliged to quote such terms in the case of the "C" machine is that it is costly to manufacture and the margin of profit but very slight indeed. If you order any Z L. K. or E. machines to be shipped to Ports other than London I will contribute 25/[s] a ton towards freight 1/2% towards insurance and deliver the goods F.O.B. New York.##These terms are a considerable reduction upon those previously given Col Gouraud as to the best of my recollection the machines you got from him were quoted delivered at my Works here, he paying all expenses of boxing & carting here & freight & insurance. I send you by this mail the catalogue of our Isolated Co here which will give you full particulars of size, weight, &c of the various machines, the price at which they are sold to the public & the Installations made at the time of the publication of the Catalogue.##I also send you copy of Bergmann & Cos catalogue. I can obtain you a discount of 20% and on large orders 22 1/2% on their catalogue prices. In addition to cost you will be charged with boxing & all shipping expenses but as the goods are light these are very slight.##As to lamps our price delivered at our Works for 16 candle & 8 candle lamps is 40 cents where used for "General Distribution" business. Ten candle "A" lamps and 32 candle "A" lamps are 60 cents each. We are now making some 50 & 100 candle lamps but have not as yet settled on prices##I will send you prices of tubes in the course of a few weeks.
