Editor's Notes
CARBON BUTTONS FOR TELEPHONE. I have given instructions for half a dozen carbon buttons to be sent you from Menlo Park.##STORAGE BATTERY. The irregularity in the dynamo when charging will not affect the current in discharging, but will make considerable difference to the economy.##WIRING FOR HEAVY PERCENTAGE OF LOSS. You may figure to lose 30 per cent and still get the proper volts. You have to increase the speed of your dynamo in order to do it, but I do not think it would heat any more than with the ordinary running except the bearings might get a little warm. If you decide to wire in this way in any place, you must be careful not to put any lamps on the wire where you have this loss. Never have but two and a half per cent loss on your lamp system, but you can arrange to have whatever loss you like in the feeding wires leading from the source of power to the system of wires carrying your lamps.
