Editor's Notes

There are 539 shares of Isolated Stock which the machine Works carried 7% are in your name 4 in that of Mrs. B. and the balance in Edisons name. This Stock is all full paid now & in [closing] up 1882 affairs I want to transfer the Stock to the right owners i.e 5[-] shares to you and 486 to Edison. You get this by virtue of your 10% Interest in the Machine Works. So please sign the enclosed powers with your wife, get them certified by W. S Consul & send them back as quickly as possible as I want to sell a 10% dividend just announced.##There is another issue of Isolated Stock now being made on the same terms as the previous one. The dividend [given] you on the present shares will go towards [saying] the call of 50% & the Machine Works will pay the balance in Machines & in the course of six months I shall have another 53 shares to send you. The price of the Stock is now 215##I shall send you full statement of all a/cs as soon as my books for 1882 are closed which will be by the end of this week
