Title
[LB015160], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Giuseppe Colombo, January 16th, 1883
Editor's Notes
Referring to my several letters to you confirmed elsewhere I beg to state that at our Central Station here we are running three Armington & Sims Engines & three Porter Allen engines together. we do not use any device for coupling the governors as we find that the Armington & Sims engines run perfectly steady without any [other] coupling device but they also steady the Porter Allen engines at the same time & prevent their running away. In short we run three A. & S. engines and three P A. engines together without any flickering of the lights and without any mechanism to connect the governors
