Title
[LB015280], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Joshua Franklin Bailey, February 8th, 1883
Editor's Notes
Referring to your cable from Berlin and my reply thereto confirmed elsewhere as to four "C" Dynamos for the German Opera House the price quoted ($97.50 each with Armington Engines free on dock at Hamburg) must not be taken as a precedent. Just now I have eight "C" Dynamos in my shop five of which belong to our London Co & the reason I offer them so low is that I am under obligations to the London Co to sell some of their machines as they cannot use them just now & want the money they have advanced on them.##As the price I have named will not get me out whole liberal arrangements must be made as to payment to me to enable me to finish the machines buy engines & ship them. If the order is given please arrange for an advance and the balance payable on presentation of Invoices & Bills of Lading.##The machines will have Armington Engines & are the finest yet made at our Works.
