- I enclose you herewith two letters from Mr Pender to yourself. Seeing they were from 66 Old Broad Street & thinking I recognized Mr Payton's writing I opened them##I showed Edison the letter about the Gordon Machine.##With reference to the Automatic I cannot find in any of our accounts with Gouraud that he has charged us with the Sum agreed to be paid Mr Pender when the Oriental Telephone deal was closed I think you are in error in stating that Gouraud deducted your share of it. You certainly are if Gourauds accounts to us are correct.##will you please look into this and advise us so that we can get the matter settled.
