- Immediately I got back to New York from Philadelphia I was called East and hence the delay in replying to your favor of 2nd inst.##With reference to the car Lighter Mr Edison informs me that he would give half of his interest in it to anyone who would undertake to exploit it. The reason he is unable to continue the matter himself is that his time is so heavily taxed that it is quite impossible for him to give it the necessary attention##Hoping to hear of your success in getting the matter taken up I remain
