- [LB016422], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Cyrus West Field, May 23rd, 1883
- Editor's Notes
- I learn that a concern called the Brush Swan Co. are bidding to wire your building. these people have never had any experience in wiring and have'nt a single installation in the Country. What they would do would be utterly worthless. Mr Harrington who presents this letter is one of the firm of Bergmann and Co. who have done a large amount of work for our Coy, which has been perfectly satisfactory to our Company and the Board of Fire underwriters. They have wired over nine hundred buildings in New York alone of which over 500 are using the light.
