[LB016501], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Edison Electric Illuminating Co (Lawrence), Frederick Emerson Clarke, May 29th, 1883
Editor's Notes
Yours of the 28th came to hand this morning. In the details of the estimate for conductors originally sent you you will notice that there is at the bottom an estimate of the act of excavating refilling and paving for 9480 running feet. We could not include this estimate in that for the tubes as we did not know whether the street was macadamized or cobble stone pavement or granite block and that was the reason it was put at the bottom of the estimate for mains & [Feeders. I think you must have overlooked this as the figures you mention do not include this item but are made up as follows:##Mains & Feeders to Jackson St (except no 8 [feeder]) $7982##Number 6 Feeders 1751.53##Total $9733.38
