Title
[LB017076], Letter from Samuel Insull to William Lloyd Garrison, Jr., June 5th, 1883
Editor's Notes
I notice in your letter of the 4th inst. to Mr Edison that you state that in case you cannot get permission to put the pole lines as proposed it is understood that a corresponding allowance will be made by Mr Edison on the amount of his contract.##Will you please take immediate steps to get the necessary permission as until it is obtained we cannot order our wire for overhead and although this would not delay our starting the station it would considerably delay our finishing the work at Brockton and would add materially to the expense to us if we were compelled to do it after the rest of the work is done there; the pole work should proceed simultaneously with the underground work. Our Mr Rich, Supt. of Construction, has gone to Brockton tonight and will commence work there forthwith. We have ordered today most of our material for his use and will push matters forward just as quickly as possible.
