Title
[LB018137], Letter from Samuel Insull to George Edward Gouraud, July 22nd, 1884
Editor's Notes
A Mr. Thomas J. W. Gale, of Wellington, New Zealand called on us to-day and I showed him through the Machine Works.##In the course of conversation he told me that he was a representative of the Edison & Swan Company in New Zealand, and referred to it as being presided over by Major Flood Page.##Now the Edison & Swan Co. have nothing whatever to do with New Zealand, as we understand it, and I thought it just as well to post you as to this, as Mr. Gale states that he is going to London to see Major Flood Page.##Is the United Co. attempting to do business in Australia or is it represented by the people in control of the United Co. that the Edison and Swan Companies have been amalgamated in the British Colonies? We are rather interested to know something about this matter.
