Your favor of 22nd Oct came to hand whilst I was confined to the House owing to a slight indisposition & hence the delay in replying to it.##I do not know why the powdered carbon sent you by Bergmann & Co would not [aciswerd] I am having the matter looked into & meantime have given instructions for your last order to be duplicated. I will write you again as soon as I find out how it was that worthless carbon was sent you. [Where's Edison]
