Yours of 2[8]th came to hand this morning I am sorry that you havse been put to entire expense at Des Moines. I do not however think the error you complain of can be fixed on anyone [---] The Station as far as I remember, was designed by the construction Dept the Dynamos were [ordered] of Mr Batchelor of the Machine Works. The letter could not by any means be cognisant of what the former did, and the former [having] ceased to [exist] at the time the order was given could not direct Mr Batchelor##I think you should have specified initially what you wanted when you gave the order to the Machine Works
