- "On behalf of the Edison Machine Works t?hey ????? you herewith copies of account already resumed? to your Company as follows.– P?stung Central Station Dynamos $illeg Coal used " " " " " 172.08 Experimental work in ??? & Dis? armature 100 sum to $1292.29 At the time the Central Station Dynamos were first built it was necessary to make any exhaustive tests with a view to obtaining all possible data in connection with these machines of which very little was known owing to the fact that Mr. Edisons big Dynamos marked an entirely new departure in Dynamo building. ???? tests were for the benefit of the Edison Electric? Light & ??? did for same was accordingly rendered to them. The charge for experimenting on ???? & time ????? time was made on account of an accounting? which was sent to Edison's ??????????????? agent in ordering the experiment was to produce a base ?????? armature to replasethe wire wound armatures now used in the small machines. The machine works were ?????ed to ???????? the Edison Electric Light Co of almost the whole of the expense of the experiment as they found a customer in Europe for the armature & the reason for disputing the small charge made I am not aware of."
