Editor's Notes
"On behalf of the Edison Lamp Co I beg to enclose you herewith account ? $1077.99 for resocketing lamps. I quote from letter sent by the Lamp Co to Co. Goddard Esq ??? on January 11th 1882. " The enclosed account of expenses on changing old to new ???? is in full. we have still on hand 2?500 lamps with old sockets the loss of which we will stand" The bill was never returned or question. The only point raises was to whom it belonged "Light Co" or "Illuminating Co New York" The resocketing was done not as a benefit to the Lamp Co but because the Light Co Engineering Dept ordered the use of a different form of socket of an ??????? character. At the time the Lamp Co resocketed 55080 lamps whereas they only for the work on ????? Co undertaking at their own s?????? to bear the balance of the expense."
