"I have your favor of May 12th. and in reply would state that the London Stereoscopic Company owned Mr. Edison's phonograph rights. The patent however under which they were licenced was disclaimed in connection with telephone litigation which occurred in England a few years back, so that there is really nobody at the present time representing us in connection with the phonograph. Bergmann & Co. make the instruments and I am sure if you were to enter into negotiation with them they would be very glad to give you prices and would doubtless allow you discount should you happen to place any machines."
