I have your letter and should be very glad to write the endorsement you ask for. The difficulty is however that I am largely interested in & practically "father" the underground system of the Electric Tube Co just put down for the [illeg] Telephone Co and if you are appointed Commissioner you will probably have to pass on the System. Cannot you {illegible} the matter some other way say for instance my name as a reference. If however you find no objection under the circumstances to my writing the letter I shall be delighted to do so.
