Title
[LB021117A], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to William Henry Preece, November 2nd, 1885
Editor's Notes
I have recently been working on telegraph matters and as a result have produced an invention which has for its purpose the duplexing of way lines and the additional advantage of making it possible to introduce way offices on other duplex lines. This invention is considered of great value to our telegraph services in this country and as soon as it has been placed in practical operation here, I desire to bring it to the notice of the British Postal Telegraph authorities. With this end in view, I have concluded arrangements with my friend, Mr. M. M. Moore, of 6 Lombard St., & Co. to represent me in England. The object of this letter is to ask you to extend to Mr. Moore, when he calls to see you, that same kindly consideration which I know you would bestow upon myself were I personally calling upon you with relation to the matter.
