I have written to you officially (under this date) in answer to your official letter of 31st March. ## I now have before me your second letter of 31st March & which you request me to look upon as coming personally from you & not from the Edison Swan United Elect Co ## In reply I would state that I have no desire to sell any of my B [underlined] shares. They are all that I have got to represent my interest in my English Light Patents. I have great confidence in the future of Electric Lighting in England & under the circumstances I am satisfied to wait until such time as the progress of the business requires in order to get some value for my B shares. ## So far as the Central Station Dynamos are concerned they were regularly ordered & the delivery has been delayed only to meet the convenience of your Company. The Edison Machine Works stands ready to make that delivery at any time so there would be no object whatsoever in my sacrificing any of my interests [words written above the line illegible] with [???] To bringing about a settlement of an account about which there can be no question on either. ## My proposition in regard to these Dynamos in connection with my Patent account was suggested simply with a view to relieving your company of a responsibility & to facilitate the storing up of a long standing account which remains on the Books of the Edison Machine Works With [???] regards I remain Very truly yours
