- Referring to your memorandum which you left here, I beg to inform you that Spain is controlled by the Compagnie Continentale Edison of Paris. Nothing whatever can be done with relation to electric lighting there from New York. I shall be glad to give you or any of your friends letters of introduction to friends in Paris if you desire. As to the possibilities of electric lighting in Spain I cannot offer any opinion as I am totally unacquanted with the Company.
