- Editor's Notes
- Dear Sir:- In reference to the attached correspondence, Mr. Edison makes me to say that use defects up the cylinder sent to Boston were caused through our having transferred our appliances for making same from the Laboratory to the Edison Phonograph Works. We found it necessary in order to turn out large quantities to break kin a number of new hands , who being unfamiliar with the method failed to make the first lot finished we perfect as those which were previously turned out by our own men. You need have no fear of receiving defective cylinders in the future. We are forwarding today by express to Mr. Jno. Williams, #66 State St., Boston, one box containing seven cylinders and three musical records. The former were tested before they left the Laboratory and found to be satisfactory. We hope that your Boston people will report promptly any trouble they experience in connection with cylinders.
