I have just received a letter from Wily which reads as follows:- "Your cablegram relative to non-exhibition of Ore Separator until patent papers arrive received. I did not intend to show it my way until I had received the papers which I cabled about last week, I have arranged the space at the Crystal Palace but as they want us there will be no trouble as regarded the delay, except my expense of existing meanwhile. I will try to live as cheaply as possible assisted Hamilton and Col. Gouraud upon the phonograph, as I am now living at Upper Norwood. In the meantime please send all cables to "Phonographs" London and mail to 181 Queen Victoria St., as Dredge's office is too far away to get mail daily." You will see from the above that Gouraud as completely [captured] young Wiley. I do not believe that anything which we can now do will put Wiley on the right track, or break the connection which Gouraud has succeeded in forming with him. I believe the best thing to do would be to [xxx] him.
