Title
[LB026141], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Samuel Insull, December 29th, 1887
Editor's Notes
"On the 22nd day of March 1878 Mr. Edison executed a license in favor of Geo. Swan Nottage and reward John Kennand (The London Stereoscopic & Photographic Company) for the manufacture and sale of phonographs in England. ### On the same day Mr. Edison and the above parties executed an agreement with relation to certain moneys which were to be paid to the former as soon as [unclear] above [unclear] was [unclear] him and handed to the agents of Nottage and Swan. ### This agreement is in my hands but I cannot find a copy of the license referred to, tho I have made four different searches in the safe at Wall St. ### Mr. Edison says it was written on parchment and that perhaps you can suggest its whereabouts. ### It is important that a copy of the same should be sent to Col. Gouraud at as early a date as possible." Yours truly, AO Tate
