- "I enclose herewith copy of a letter which I have addressed to Upton in regard to Japanese business which explains itself. ### Transactions of the nature mentioned there are cash before goods leave New York and mr. Edison thinks that something should be done to reduce our estimates. I think you allow an extra 7% on your bills in this connection for cash, and this is not much hardship to the Agents as they would (at prices which they have quoted) receive $1500 for a dynamo before sending you your $800 less 7%."
