Title
[LB026254], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Samuel Insull, May 2nd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"In reference to your telegram re compound to which I have replied stating that we are preparing it, our water tests in connection with same show high insulation, and it gives no flame. I have two men who are thoroughly instructed in the preparation of this material. It will be necessary for you to make it in Schenectady. The process is dangerous, liable to fire, and you therefore will require a separate building about 25' X 50.' If there is no spot on your own property which you consider sufficiently isolated you can locate it [somewhere else?] in the town. ### In about ten days I will send you all data in regard to this business and give you a sketch of the arrangement and correct dimensions of the building. I will let you know when the compound [unclear] forward."
