"I have had a talk with Mr. Edison in regard to insulation and you are in error in supposing that nothing has been accomplished. He says that he has a compound which is both fire and water proof and he gave instructions while I was talking with him to have a quantity prepared for you as quickly as it could be got ready. ### He wants your opinion in regard to making a number [leave 2nd page for editors—scan is doubled/offset and difficult to decipher] the Laboratory the occasion will be divested of the business Element which would surround it [unclear] the tests made anywhere else.
