Title
[LB026305], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Edison Phonograph Works, Charles Batchelor, September 10th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"The bearer Mr. Edgar D. Price is the man whom I told you had seen me in regard to the position of store keeper of the Phonograph Works. ### So far as it is possible to tell without actual experience I believe Mr. Price to be thoroughly competent to take charge of Store Rooms that is the Raw Material room and the Finished Stock room and handle them in a thoroughly efficient manner. He has had an excellent training in the same line, which you will discover after a preliminary examination. ### If you desire to engage Mr. Price he could enter upon his duties after giving reasonable notice to the people whom he is now with. He wants $1000.00 per year which is about $19[unclear] per week; that is just about what we expected to pay for such a man." Yours very truly, AO Tate
