Title
[LB026317], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Edison Machine Works, Samuel Insull, September 10th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Prof. Marks has written Mr. Edison asking the latter to intercede in the matter of the Machine Works and taking the construction of ampere meters from the Philada. Machine. ### Mr. Edison has replied to Prof. Marks stating that a custom, growing out of a long standing friendship, has arisen between the ships which forbids one of them doing work which is recognized as belonging to another, and regretting that he is powerless to render the assistance asked for."
