Title
[LB027118], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Eugene Howard Lewis, November 22nd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I have your note of 20th instant. I attach copy of a letter which I have received from Mr. George Parsons Lathrop, in regard to the day upon which Mr. Edison, Mr. Gilliland, Mr. Tomlinson and Mr. Lippincott were together at the Laboratory. You will see that Mr. Lathrop fixes the date of this conference on June 11th. He also speaks of a subsequent interview between the same parties on the 22d or 23d day of June. I think he is mistaken as to the latter. It appears from his letter that the only reason he has for believing such an interview took place was Mr. Edison's statement, made the day before, to the effect that the persons mentioned above were coming to the Laboratory. ### In regard to the letter which you sent Mr. Lathrop, addressed to "The Star" office, I am quite sure that he did not receive it." Yours very truly, AO Tate [stamped "Phonograph Dictation" at top]
