- Editor's Notes
- [TAE formal signature] "This will introduce to you Prof. W. D. Marks, of Philadelphia, whom I suggested to you as a good man to act as your technical adviser or chief engineer of our new consolidated Edison Light Company. Prof. Marks has for years been well known in the scientific world as one of the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. At the moment he is acting as Supervising Engineer and General Manager of the Edison Electric Light Co. of Philadelphia, which Company, under Prof. Marks' supervision, is erecting what I think may be considered the best Edison Station as far designed, with the object of getting the greatest earning capacity out of the smallest possible investment. Hoping that you will be as favorably impressed by Prof. Marks as I have been."
