Title

[LB027440], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Lowrey Stone and Auerbach, Richard E O'Brien, December 17th, 1888

Editor's Notes

"In reference to copies of agreements which you very kindly sent me the other day, I find that the first of these is dated 9th February, 1882. There appears to have been prior to this date an agreement executed by Mr. Edison, as indicated by the following extract:- ###'AND WHEREAS, the said Edison has heretofore caused to be granted to the parties of the second part, jointly with himself, all rights under such letters patent which may be enjoyed in the Islands of Cuba and Porto Rico under an agreement that the parties of the second part would organize a Company &c.' ### The parties of the second part referred to are, Jose F. de Navarro, Groavenor P. Lowrey and Geo W. Soren. ### I take it that the agreement indicated as above is the fundamental contract in connection with the Spanish Colonial business. I have no copy of it, and I therefore wish you would be kind enough to take one for me and send it to me at your early convenient, together with memorandum of expenses." Yours truly, A.O. Tate
