- "In reference to your letter of 15th ultimo, I cabled you yesterday as follows:- ### 'Await Hammer’s arrival in London two weeks. Edison.' ### Mr. Hammer sails to-morrow (Wednesday) on the steamer 'Germanic' for London, and will see you in regard to exhibiting the 'Thorn Type-setting and Distributing Machine,' in conjunction with the phonograph, at the Paris Exposition. Mr. Hammer has full charge of my exhibit at Paris, and if, after investigating the matter, he deems it desirable to grant your request, he will do so and arrange all the details as to space &c."
