Title
[LB028620], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Exhibition. Paris Universal (1889), William Joseph Hammer, March 12th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I enclose herewith a letter which we have rec’d. from Somerville P. Tuck, Assistant Commissioner General, attached to which are invoices in triplicate for Case 270. We have also received from Commissioner Tuck a communication, in reply to one of ours asking what constituted the error in connection with the shipment of case 270, in which he states that, inasmuch as the case in question went forward by S.S. "Germanic" has gone to Liverpool instead of Havre that it will be necessary for you to look it up and not expect to find it with other consignments of our goods through the Commission. I presume that this case was shipped per S.S. "Germanic" instead of "Germania" intentionally, and that you are aware you will have to see to its being forwarded to Paris yourself. I also enclose invoice for case 250 [?]" Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
