Title
[LB028891], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Edison Lamp Co, Francis Robbins Upton, March 30th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I have your letter of 29th instant, quoting an extract from a communication which you have received from Mr. Dyer, in regard to the Edison and Swan Company. ### I am engaged now in an effort to ascertain the status of Mr. Edison's relations with this Company, but will be delayed some little time in finding out just how matters stand, for the reason that none of the contracts which he made with the old London Company, nor the later ones with the Edison-Swan Co., are in our possession. I wrote several days ago to Major S. Flood Page, asking him for copies of all contracts which in any way impose an obligation upon Mr. Edison, and I expect to get from him a complete set of these various agreements, after which we will obtain an opinion upon them and advise you of the result, when you can communicate the facts to Mr. Dyer." Yours truly [signed] A.O. Tate
