- Title
- [LB029261], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Francis Robbins Upton, May 2nd, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- "The writer of the attached letter, Messrs. Armstrong Knauer & Co., wrote to Mr. Edison, requesting him to advertise in the Official Catalogue of the Paris Exposition. As Mr. Edison's exhibit is made upon a purely scientific basis, and as he does not wish to introduce any commercial element into the affair, I replied to these people as in dictated in their letter. I have thought that perhaps I am not familiar with the nature of this Official Catalogue, and that you will probably understand exactly what it is. I shall be glad to receive any advice that you think it desirable to give me."
