Title
[LB030172], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Michigan Phonograph Co, John L Butterfield, June 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
Mr. Wilson has received your letter of 28th ult., enclosing a communication from Mr. W.H. Brearly, President of the Michigan Press Association##In regard to musical records, the North American Phonograph Co. is particular in having all such orders pass through them, but Mr. Edison believes that there is nothing in the way of his presenting you, personally, with a [unclear] of these records, and he has, therefore, given instructions for a selection of first class cylinders to be made and expressed to you, which he asks you to receive with his compliments.##In regard to new batteries for the phonograph, we have erected a new building in which to manufacture these and which is now being equipped for that purpose. At the moment we cannot name a definite date for shipment, but will be able to do so a little later on. We are leaving nothing undone to bring this battery out at the earliest possible moment. Mr. Edison says that the results which you are obtaining from storage batteries are excellent and he is glad to know that the phonograph is giving satisfaction. Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
