Title

[LB030308], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Edison Phonograph Works, Charles Batchelor, June 12th, 1889

Editor's Notes

"I enclose herewith a letter from Mr. O.S. Wiley which explains itself. I have written Mr. Wiley to return at once to this Laboratory the phonograph parts which he states are in his possession, and have given him until Saturday next 15th inst. to do so. If they are not here by that time I will take other steps to recover them. The Chief of the Orange Detective Bureau has called upon me twice in regard to material which he believes is being taken from the Phonograph Works by some one. He has not had sufficient information to locate the persons, and I have kept the matter quiet so as to give him a chance to work. ### I believe that the parts in Wiley's possession, were taken by him when he worked in the Laboratory. I doubt if he got any of them from the Phono. Wks then, or since his discharge but I give you the above information for what it may [unclear]. ### Please return Wiley's letter." Yours truly, AO Tate
