- "When I was last in your office you said that your Yohakama House was considering the formation of a Company to handle the Phonograph. ### It is proper to advise you that Mr. Edison in placing his phonograph interests in China and Japan in your hands contemplated only yourself and your own organization, known to us as Frazar + Co. Yohakama that the contract to be given you will not be assignable, and that my proposed disposition of the business involving its withdrawal from your hands must be the subject of negotiations be drawn yourselves and Mr. Edison."
