I enclose herewith two notices, under date June 18th, one from the Sun Fire Office, and the other from the United State Firemen's Ins. Co., both agencies at Newark, N.J., notifying us that these Companies desire to terminate the insurance on Mr. Edison's property, policies, respectively, 3,781,207 and 94,834, pursuant to these notices lapsed on 18th instant, no premium having been yet received by these Companies on account of the same. Please give this matter your immediate attention, and advise us what action to take. I have not acknowledged the letters. Yours truly, AO Tate [short Tate handwritten postscript illegible]
