Title
[LB031178], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Samuel Insull, July 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
"This afternoon at two o'clock, we held the Stockholders Meeting of the Phonograph Company, at Harrison, New Jersey. Mr. Lewis dictated the minutes of the meeting to the Stenographer at the Edison Lamp Co., and they will be written out to-morrow and sent hers. I have told Maguire to forward the minutes to Mr. Lewis, with a letter asking him to read them over and approve them and return them to this office to be copied in the Minute [unclear] of the Edison Phonograph Company. The Directors elected were, Thomas A. Edison, Chas. Batchelor, Samuel Insull, A.O. Tate, John F. Randolph. It is necessary for yourself and Randolph to qualify as Directors. You are not stockholders of [unclear] at the present time. You require five shares each to qualify. Mr. Lewis asks that if cannot get hold of the old Certificates book, we can get a new one and qualify you from them." Yours truly, A.O. Tate
