- [LB031461], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to John Lubbock (Baron Avebury), July 30th, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- "I have duly received your letter of 9th inst, and yesterday a copy of your last book came to hand. ### I need hardly assure you that I shall be delighted to do whatever I can to make it pleasant for you when you visit this country. I leave within the next few days for Paris, and shall be on the Continent for a month or six weeks. If you are visiting the Exposition during the time I am there, I shall be delighted to see you. I will have so very little time at my disposal that it will be quite impossible for me to extend my trip to England." Yours very truly, [unsigned]
