- Editor's Notes
- "Mr. Edison asks me to thank you for your very kind letter of the 7th instant, congratulating him upon his return, and I am myself very much indebted for the kind message which you sent me. We had a delightful homeward passage and all feel very much benefited by our sojourn in Europe. ### I enclose herewith Mr. Edison's proxy for the meeting of stockholders of the Edison Phono. Toy M'f'g. Co., to be held at Portland, Me. On Thursday 17th instant, executed in favor of yourself. Mr. Edison will be glad if you will elect me as a Director to represent him, and you can transfer 10 shares of his stock to me, to enable me to qualify. That I presume would be a sufficient number. As I understand it, Mr. Edison, under his agreement with your Company, is obliged to hold personally 12,500 hares of the stock allotted to him in order to be entitled to a percentage of any future increase, which leaves 1500 shares free and out of which latter ten shares for me may be taken without impairing any of his rights. ### I am going to write you again in a few days, on the matter which we discussed in Paris. Is it your intention to be in New York within the next few weeks. ### With kindest regards, I am yours very truly, [unsigned]
