"I enclose herewith three (3) notes of the Edison Phonograph Works, at five months, for $5,000 each, made payable to the order of themselves, and countersigned by Mr. Edison as President; also two (2) notes of the Edison Phonograph Works, at four months, for $5,000 each, endorsed payable to the order of Thomas A. Edison, and countersigned by the latter. None of these notes are dated. [following is handwritten] Also fill in the name of the Bank where they [unclear] be payable." Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
