- Editor's Notes
- [TAE ALS in nice hand] Your letter of August 19th reached me at Paris. I intended to have replied, but afterwards thought I would see you personally in England, but failed owing to the short stay, being frightened by proposed banquets which are to me exquisite tortures, being deaf and timid. ### Permit me to thank you for the kind expressions in your letter and to express to you my admiration for your peculiar and great natural ability in a branch where I have absolutely none. Yours truly, [signed] TAE
