Title
[LB033471], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Franck Zeveley Maguire, November 8th, 1889
Editor's Notes
I have your letter of 6th instant. The Edison Phonograph Toy Manufacturing Company has recently been reorganized, and Mr. Jacques, while on the Board, is not an officer of the Company. Mr. Benjamin F. Stevens is President, and the General Manager is Mr. Victor S. Allien. Mr. Edison manufactures for the Company and is a stockholder. I am one of the trustees, but have not yet attended a meeting, and have no definite knowledge as to the way they propose conducting their business abroad. You indicate in your letter that you desire to sell England, France and Germany outright. So far as I am aware the Company does not contemplate selling any of its territory, the idea being to furnish dolls fro the foreign trade, the same as for the trade in this country. I am very sorry not to have seen you when you were in New York. When do you expect to come on again? Yours truly, A.O. Tate
