Referring to your letter of 4th instant to Mr. Edison, in regard to an eccentric cam for locking the side arm of the phonograph, I believe you refer to the swinging centre. I mailed Col. Gouraud a few days ago a description of Mr. Edison's new phonograph, from which you will see that he has already done away with the screw in question, substituting a clamp. Very truly yours, A.O.
