Dec. 19, 1889 J.H. Black, Esq., Vienna, Austria Mr. Edison is in receipt of your esteemed favor under date 27th ultimo. He also received your cablegram announcing the success of the phonograph at Gatchino, which caused him much gratification. He desires me to say to you that he will have prepared at once a very handsome machine, for the Czar of Russia, and will forward the same to you at the earliest possible moment for presentation to His Majesty.
