Title
[LB035072], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Josef Casimir Hofmann, December 11th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Your very interesting letter under date 24th November has been duly received, and Mr. Edison read it with a great deal of pleasure. He was delighted to learn that you had made the acquaintance of the phonograph, and the fact that you like it as well caused him much gratification. He is of the opinion that you will find the phonograph a very valuable adjunct in your musical studies, and desires me to say to you that he will have an instrument specially prepared and send it to Berlin for presentation to yourself. You will be notified when it is shipped from New York.##When you next visit the United States you must come out to Orange and see Mr. Edison. He will be very pleased to show you over his workshop, and to a little man like you who are so interested in electrical phenomena, the visit could not be other than productive of much pleasure to you.##Wishing you the Compliments of the Season" I beg to remain, yours very truly, AO Tate
